Ark - Burn the sun (2001)

2nd (and apparently last) album from this prog-metal supergroup formed by Tore Ostby (Conception, DC Cooper), Jorn Lande (Masterplan, solo, etc), John Macaluso (TNT, Yngwie), Randy Coven (Steve Vai,Steve Morse) and Mats Olausson (Yngwie). The performances on this cd are some of the best by this talented musicians, plus it has a cohesiveness not often seen in this kind of supergroup. Beautiful songs with powerful music and lots of emotion.

Debut album by this band from Norway. For me, this was the album of the year in 2005. This is what prog-metal should be like: excelent tasteful songwriting, amazing vocal harmonies, great musicians. This sounds extremely mature, definetivelly one of the best debut cds ever. Do yourself a favor and listen to it!

ORCo. is a band that has members from Unusual Sickness and Rotten Minds (two of the best underground bands in Mexico in the late 90s). They play what they call "Groove Metal", but I will say that this album has so many vibes and influences that will keep you interested and songs are quite different one from the other (something I like, as there is nothing worse than to have all songs in the same beat and being kind of the same).
